Frequently asked questions
About the game
Is Roboku free?
Yes. You can play every level, the daily challenge and time trial without paying anything. The game is funded by ads. The mobile versions will also offer an ad-free PRO version for a one-time payment.
Where can I play?
Right now, in any modern browser, on desktop, tablet or phone, at play.roboku.app. Android and iOS versions are on the way.
Do I need to sign up?
No. You can play without an account and your progress is saved on your device. Signing in with Google or Apple is optional and lets you save your progress in the cloud and continue on another device.
How many levels are there?
Over a hundred numbered levels, a daily challenge for every day since August 2026 and a separate set of one hundred cases for time trial. No map is repeated across the three modes.
Do I have to play the levels in order?
No. Every level is independent and you can pick any of them from the level screen. Difficulty does increase with the number, though, so it's a good idea to start with the first ones.
What do the stars on each level mean?
They show the difficulty, from one to five. It mostly depends on how much each clue narrows things down on its own: the more cells each clue allows when read in isolation, the more you have to cross-reference characters with one another. The size of the map counts too.
Can a level have two solutions?
No. Every level is checked by an automatic solver before it's published to guarantee a single solution. If you think you've found another one, double-check the row and column rule (it applies to the item too) and the exact meaning of each clue type. If you're still sure, drop us a line.
Game modes
How does the daily challenge work?
Every day has its own case, separate from the numbered levels. On the calendar you can play today's or catch up on any earlier day since August 2026. Completed days are marked in green.
How do I unlock time trial?
Complete any level numbered above 40 and a “Start time trial” button appears on the level screen. You have 15 minutes to solve as many three- to five-star cases as you can, with no Hint button. Your record is saved.
Is there a limit on the Hint button?
In regular levels and the daily challenge you can use it as often as you like. Each press makes a single correction. There are no hints in time trial.
Progress and account
Is my game saved if I close it?
Yes. Every move is saved automatically, and when you go back to a level you'd started, it's exactly as you left it.
How do I move my progress to another device?
Sign in with the same Google or Apple account on both devices. Progress and stats sync through the cloud.
How do I delete my data or my account?
The “Clear data” button in Options erases the progress saved on your device. To delete your account and the data stored in the cloud, see the privacy policy or email us at nycohub@gmail.com.
Other
Which languages is it available in?
Twelve: English, Spanish, French, Portuguese, German, Italian, Japanese, Catalan, Basque, Galician, Korean and Traditional Chinese. You can switch language in Options.
Does it work offline?
The mobile versions do: every level ships inside the app. The web version needs a connection to load, but your progress is saved in the browser itself.
